Slideshow Task

Try the Demo

The Slideshow task displays stimuli (images, text, or videos) one by one using all available screen space. It is designed for presenting instructional content, training materials, or any sequence of media where you don't need to collect responses from participants.

This task is ideal for:

  • Instructions: Show step-by-step visual guides before a main experiment
  • Training phases: Present example stimuli or demonstrations
  • Debriefing: Display information at the end of an experiment
  • Presentations: Show a sequence of images or videos to participants

Alternative Tasks

The Slideshow task does not record any response data—participants simply view each stimulus and click a button to proceed. If you need to collect responses, consider these alternatives:

  • Use Timed Key Response if you need to collect keyboard responses and reaction times.
  • Use Label if you need participants to provide text labels or select from options.
  • Use Gallery Select if you need participants to select from multiple stimuli shown simultaneously.
  • Use Consent if you need participants to agree to terms before proceeding.
  • Use the Information Task if you only need to display a single page of written instructions or information, optionally with images embedded.

Parameters

Customize the task by changing these on the Parameters tab of the task.

Data

Since the Slideshow task is designed for displaying content rather than collecting responses, no participant response data is recorded.
